Ruth Westra
Fine art of nature and spirit.

About

Ruth Westra is an artist in watercolor, acrylic and clay.  She feels that art is a journey of infinite discovery of the holistic natural and spiritual world.  Westra endeavors to explore and strengthen her foundation in what makes beautiful and/or meaningful art that will connect with the viewer.

Westra is currently focused mainly on her ceramic work, both the Spirit Rattles and the Ceremonials boxes, and the Madrona Series which balances the fragile against the strength of the madrona trees that grace the Puget Sound islands, in watercolor, ceramic, and other natural materials. She has been influenced by adventures like sailing to Alaska, throughout many of the Greek islands, and across the Atlantic including exploring the Azores; and trekking in Nepal.
